The art of candle burning

You get the most out of your candle experience when you know how to properly take care of them. Become a candle whisperer with these tips and tricks ;)

  1. LET IT BURN BABY - when you first light a candle you need to let it burn for at least an hour, let the top layer of wax melt all the way to the rim of the container to ensure your candle doesn’t tunnel and you get a good scent throw going

2. TRIM THAT WICK - after the first burn, you need to trim your wick before your re-light the candle (wait till the wax is solid again though!) The wick should be trimmed to about 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch.

3. DON’T BLOW IT - Use a wick dipper or snuffer to extinguish the flame so that you don’t create that harsh smoke. It’s also a much safer way to extinguish a flame

4. BABYSIT - Your candle is a wild flame, literally. So keep your eyes on it. Keep it in a ventilated space, away from drafts/windows, away from kids and pets. Never leave your candle unattended.

5. BE PRESENT - Enjoy the candle. Sit down, grab a cozy blanket, a warm cup of tea (available at zyncandle.com *wink) take some deep breathes and take a moment for yourself. Even if it’s 5 minutes. The scent is important but also that beautiful flickering flame should be experienced. Of course we can’t all sit around all day, cook dinner, fold clothes, study, live your life with your candle just try to sneak in a little “ZYN” every now and then

*BONUS - Buy in BULK, I don’t know about you, but I hate running out of candles. Candles are a part of my every day life…especially my evenings at home. Don’t run out! Plan your orders ahead of time and buy at least 2+ at a time. Stay wittit, Don’t play wittit as they say lol
