There are no rules to self-care…but here are a few ways to improve your journey

The world of “self-care” can be a bit overwhelming. Should I order pizza or start pilates? Am I doing it right? Can I do it better?…Look no further…Here are 5 things that are helping me on my current journey

  1. Allow your self to enjoy the things you enjoy (For me it’s coffee, I’m on a weight loss journey but look I’m HAVING MY COFFEE and if I want CREAM & SUGAR, girl I’ma have it. BYE!)

2. Do something that challenges you! Try learning a new language, cooking a new dish, lifting heavier, DIY project etc

3. Do something that DISCIPLINES you…self-love is DISCIPLINE baby, discipline means that you are keeping your word to yourself, which is building self trust….and you can’t have love without what? TRUST. oh ok….that includes the relationship you have with yourself babe ;) Ex: Walk daily, Night Time Skin Care routine, Read every night, Meal Prep every Sunday etc Pick something that speaks to you.

4. Do something that makes you feel BEAUTIFUL…now I don’t know the science but I think there is something special about feeling good in your skin. Look good = Feel good, I’ve tested this and it’s very true. Do your hair, put on something you love (fav sweater, a ball gown, freakum-dress, fuzzy slippers etc whatever YOU like) Note: I said FEEL beautiful so this doesn’t have to be external beauty….maybe dancing makes you feel beautiful…put on your favorite playlist and body roll yourself happy!

5. Get out the HOUSE and do something for leisure. We are social creatures, we need to take care of our nature of being around other human beings. Meet a friend for coffee, Take your dog to a new park, Go peruse a new bookstore solo, take a group kickboxing class, Go to your little cousins birthday party etc you get it, go breathe some fresh air *BONUS: Speak to/compliment a stranger
